What is the CDM?
The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) is a mechanism for financing emission reduction projects in developing countries that aims to encourage sustainable development by facilitating the transfer of clean technologies.
Problems with CDM
A significant part of these projects are those that would take place regardless of the CER funding, resulting in a superficial contribution to the sustainable development mechanisms in these countries.
Noe21 alongside other NGOs is trying to address these problems through the CDM Watch.
